A favorite springtime joy in my garden is when the lavender blooms. As a Master Gardner, I enjoy many flowers and have quite a variety around my home. Still, none compare to my love for lavender. Though they are not showy, spectacular blooms, their delicate fragrance and sweet purple buds promote mindfulness. You must bend down and brush them to release the aroma. The call me over for a smile quite often.
I have included a tutorial on Lavender Wands. I made 2 of these for my girls when they were babies and tucked them away in their baby boxes. I found them last year, still in tact and fragrant.

We love making lavender wands and then hang them in the closets. There is nothing quite like lavender!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love lavender too! So very special. I haven't made lavender wands and will try to do this this year! How wonderful you still have the two you made for your girls. We have fields of lavender in our area which we visited last summer. What a joy to our senses, as you can imagine. ReplyDeleteOne of the hardest things about moving from our house was leaving the lavender bush I had planted...I tried to will it to bloom one last time before we left but with no luck! Now I can't wait to get my hands on some so I can make a wand! Very cool!
